M's Colourful Birthday

This weekend we celebrated M’s 11th birthday. It looks like she’ll be moving to another province in the new year so we wanted to make her birthday extra special. She decided she wanted her party to be super-colourful and chose to have a couple friends for a sleepover rather than a large group for a shorter party.

Here’s an overview of the party. She was really pleased with how it went and that’s the most important thing. I’ll post more specifics about the party in later posts and link them back here.

Decorations: Dollar store items paired with things we made
and things we had around the house

Cake: Tri-colour vanilla cake with vanilla icing

Craft: Melted crayon art

Snacks: Fruit loop squares, candy that doubled
as our centerpiece and our take-home treat

Breakfast: Coloured pancakes

Along with the things above, the girls had pizza, watched a movie, and spent a large amount of time dancing around the basement. Hopefully this was a birthday M will remember fondly for a long time.
